I am sorry for your loss. Miss McGonegle was my second grade teacher at Longfellow School in 1956-7. I will always remember her kind demeanor and competency in and out of the classroom. I had a lazy eye problem, and she helped in making sure I got tested, which resulted my getting much needed eyeglasses. I also remember she arranged a field trip to Bolger's Hollow to search for fossils and learn about nature. That was so much fun and educational too. I still have my second grade report card--all A's and B's and S's in citizenship!. She was the first teacher who showed me that school and learning could be fun. I became a teacher myself, teaching every grade K-12 in my 34 year career, but mainly middle school language arts and 5th grade. I also married a fellow English teacher named Martha, and we are enjoying our seventh year of retirement. Once again, I'm sorry for your loss, and wish you easy days ahead. --Larry Huntley
