Sister Mel was a dear friend of mine who extended an invitation to me to become an associate with the Sisters of St. Francis almost 25 years ago. I enjoyed her sense of humor, smile, and playing the guitar. I will cherish the memories of being with her and honored to be her friend. I am glad that every time we said goodbye it was with a huge hug!
