Condolence: I grew up across the street from the Bartels (Locust), Billy and I were like brothers. I remember Mr. Bartels building that big fence in his back yard supposedly to keep us out of his cherry tree. Honestly, I believe it was to keep me from Debbie lol. Billy and I shared so much as kids that when I moved from Iowa to Philadelphia I looked forward to my visits back to Clinton and the expression on his face. I love you Billy and you will always be my best friend.

Condolence: I learned on today that a very close childhood friend of my family passed away a few months ago and I'm not sure what hurts more knowing that I lost my friend or knowing I didn't do enough of being a friend while he was alive. I knew he was sick but I got so caught up in my own day to day life that I never reached out to him. Not once did I call him to say I'm thinking of you, I love you or even to say I'm praying for you and now I can't. William H. Bartels of Clinton Iowa.........my friend. I took so much for granted and now all I can do is ask God to be a better friend to you than I was. Don't let this be your mistake in life, don't let life pass without telling someone that you love them, that you are sorry for something you've done or even to say I forgive you. Condolence: R.I.P. Billy

Condolence: Back in the late 70's and 80's Bill was very good to my family with fixing our cars. You knew he would tell you the truth and would work with you if needed. He helped my family probably more than he knew, and it's still appreciated today. My condolences to the Bartels family. Life moves on the next scene but memories remain in the heart forever. May God hold all of you in the palm of his hand during this time of loss. Barb
