Obituary for Vicki Lee Long
Vicki Lee Long, 60, of Camanche, Iowa passed away at Genesis Medical Center - West Campus in Davenport on Friday, December 9, 2016. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of her life will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur from 1:00 p.m. until the Celebration of Life on Wednesday at the Funeral Home . Burial will be private. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Vicki was born October 14, 1956 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Jessie and Donna (Chiappetta) Delk. She was a graduate of Clinton High School, she went on to acquired her CNA license and worked in that field for over 20 years. Recently she returned to Clinton Community College to acquire a degree in language translation. Vicki was united in marriage to Garry Halsted on October 20, 2016 in Camanche, Iowa.
Vicki was a long-time member of the International Church of God. She was very proud of her Seminole Indian Heritage - she loved taking her son to Florida to be a part of Seminole Tribal Fairs and Pow Wows.
Vicki was a certified diver, she loved music and she enjoyed playing video games. She loved keeping up with current events and sharing those topics with family. Overall her focus in life was her family with whom she loved and adored very much - she will be sadly missed by all.
Vicki is survived by her husband Garry of Camanche, IA; one son - Michael Rettkowski of Camanche, IA; one granddaughter - Skylarr Rettkowski of Camanche, IA; one grandson - Kaleb Rettkowski of Camanche, IA; three great granddaughters; two brothers - Vincent Flynn of Clinton, IA and Vernon Flynn of Southern Milwaukee, WI; two sister in-laws with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Vicki in death were her parents and one sister in-law.
