Obituary

Richell R. Borgstrom, 62, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at MercyOne Hospital, Dubuque, Iowa on Monday March 29, 2021. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with no services taking place. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Richell was born June 6, 1958 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Frederick and Betty (Flack) Rettkowski. She was a graduate of Clinton High School.

Richell was united in marriage to Victor Borgstrom on April 18, 1997.

Early in her career, Richell worked at Ralston Purina and was also a cook at the Frontier Restaurant. Later in life, her dreams of opening a child day care were realized as she owned and operated “Family Day Care” in Clinton - she loved taking care of her kids!

Richell was very social, she enjoyed talking to her family and friends. She loved her fur-baby, “French Fry” -her cat. She also loved Roses and listening to good old Country music. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Richell is survived by her son – Brandy (Mandy) Wiersema of Clinton; grandchildren – Austin (Taylor Greve) Wiersema of Morrison and Allysa (Levi Luckritz) Wiersema of Clinton; sisters - Rebba (Mark) Marburger of Clinton, Robin Luecke of Oquawka, IL and Rose (Don) Nissan of Clinton; brothers – Roger (Marge) Rettkowski of Clinton and Raymond Rettkowski of Peoria, IL; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Victor and sister Rita.
