Obituary

LaQuita Joy Good, 82 of rural Camanche, Iowa passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Monday, November 18, 2019. Funeral services take place at 11 am on Saturday, November 23, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). A visitation occurs from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, November 22, at the funeral home. Burial takes place at Prairie Union Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

LaQuita was born May 19, 1937 in Hollywood, Iowa, the daughter of Gerd and Ruth (Robinson) Rickles. She was a graduate of Monticello High School. LaQuita was united in marriage to Melvin Good on September 22, 1953 in Preston, Minnesota – Melvin passed away April 30, 2012.

LaQuita was a long-time member of the McCausland United Methodist Church. She retired from International Paper after 38 years of service.

LaQuita loved watching her favorite movie – “Gone with the Wind”. She also enjoyed watching the David Letterman show. She loved to socialize, on the phone, with family and friends. She also enjoyed watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and NASCAR. Enjoying all types of sports, she even planned a traditional Kentucky Derby Party on the annual horse racing day. She loved all of her fur baby’s - her Boston Terriers she had throughout her life. Above all she loved her entire family very much and will be sadly missed.

LaQuita is survived by her five daughters – Deb Good of Lost Nation, IA, Cindy (Randy) Fuller of DeWitt, IA, Mary Good of Nevada, Missouri, Andrea (Rich) Eggers of Clinton, Angela (Michael) Ahrens of DeWitt, IA; 2 sons – Meynard (Deb) Good of Camanche, IA and Thayne (Linda Pershing) Good of Camanche, IA; 1 sister – Sandra Bachara of Tinley Park, IL and one brother – Leroy Rickles of Monticello, IA; 100+ grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

Preceding LaQuita in death were her parents, her husband, one grandson – Brian Fuller
and one brother.

I am so sorry to hear of La Quita's passing. I worked with her at IP in the 70' s, and she was an absolute joy to work with, and at times, have a beverage of choice at Bonnies Scenic...those were the days. Live the posted pictures...she was a beautiful lady inside and out..God Bless...
