Obituary for Elizabeth M. Ludvigsen

Elizabeth Marie Ludvigsen, 78, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport, Iowa on February 25, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 29, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. An additional visitation will take place from 10:30 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Elizabeth was born September 27, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Martin and Emma (Blockmiller) Jacobsen. She was united in marriage to James "Jim" Harold Ludvigsen on March 28, 1959 at Chancy Lutheran Church in Clinton; Jim passed away on January 31, 2011 after 52 years of marriage.
Elizabeth worked in the Distribution department at Mercy Medical Center and the former Jane Lamb Hospital, retiring after 42 years of service.
Elizabeth enjoyed games of chance with the occasional visit to the Casino. She also enjoyed socializing, whether it was logging into Facebook or simply meeting family and friends out for an evening. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing with her husband and was close to her dog Buster. She was a woman who's needs came second to everyone else's. Above all she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great grand children.
Elizabeth is survived by her one daughter - Lori (Roger) Van Zuiden of La Porte, IN; two sons- David (Ralene) Ludvigsen of Clinton, IA and Dan (Kathie) Ludvigsen of Clinton, IA; ten grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; one brother Johnny Jacobsen of Olin, IA; one sister in-law - Darlene Ludvigsen of Clinton, IA; two very special friends - Dave and Mary Ann Clark of Erie, IL; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and five sisters.
