Donald “Don” M. Mohr, 90, of Clinton, Iowa (formerly of Elvira) passed away peacefully at the Alverno on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. A graveside service will take place at 11 am on Saturday, November 14, at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Don was born September 22, 1930 in Clinton, Iowa the son of George and Esther (Laurenz) Mohr. He graduated from Elvira High School. Don served in the U.S. Army, as a Sergeant and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Don was united in marriage to Evelyn Adeline Christiansen on November 8, 1953 at the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church - both he and his wife were long-time members there.

Don was also a member of the American Legion, the Cattlemen’s Association, he was a Director on the Board of the DeWitt Farmland Co-op, and for many years sold seed corn, as well as, working his family farm.

Don enjoyed playing cards and bingo and loved getting out on the boat to go fishing. He also loved to travel with his wife. He enjoyed socializing with family and friends. Later in life, he enjoyed participating in a Veteran’s Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Above all, he loved his family very much and will be greatly missed.

Don is survived by his two daughters – Sonia (Brian) Miller of Preston, Sue (Rick) Schlichter of Goose Lake; two sons – Steve (Stacey) Mohr of Charlotte and Scott (Karen) Mohr of Elvira; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one brother – Dave Mohr of Charlotte; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife – Evelyn, granddaughter – Adeline Winkler; brother – George, two sister in-laws – Shirley Mohr and Lucille Meyer and brother in-law – Orville Meyer.

Memorials made can be directed to the Elvira Zion Lutheran Church or Mercy Hospice.
