Della Lucille Siem, 90, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. A visitation will occur two hours prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Della was born August 29, 1925 in Clinton, County the daughter of Raymond and Maude (Crampton) Cole. Della was united in marriage to Ernest Siem on December 26, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa - Ernest passed away on September 24, 1968.
Della was homemaker and worked in the food service department for DuPont, the Clinton Schools and finally Jane Lame Hospital for over 30 years.
Della loved cooking for her family and enjoyed playing cards and bowling. Her main focus however was always on her family with whom she loved, especially her grandchildren. She always had a special place in her kind heart for her pets too.
Della is survived by three daughters - Linda (Jim) Fawcett of rural Camanche, IA, Sue (Phil) Rickertsen of Camanche, IA, Patty (Leroy II) Mensinger of rural Camanche, IA; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren; one sister in-law - Dorothy Cole of Princeton, IA; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she met throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest, one daughter - Karen Ellis, two brothers - Bruce and Bill Cole and one sister - Darlene Santee.
