Obituary for William "Jay" Roe

William "Jay" Roe, 55, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home on Friday, June 29, 2018. Cremation rites have been accorded with no services scheduled. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Jay was born April, 2, 1963 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Fred and Elinor (Vaughn) Roe. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Throughout his career Jay worked in the Hospitality Industry – he greatly enjoyed a recent position he held with the Clinton Lumber Kings as the food and beverage manager.
Jay enjoyed surfing, baseball and bicycling – participating in Ragbrai for several years. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a gifted artist who enjoyed drawing cartoons. Jay maintained a high level of integrity, loyalty and had a heart of gold, which was evident as he took care of his Dad for two years during the last stages of his Dad's life. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Jay is survived by his 3 sisters – Sherry (Philippe Leroy) Roe of Cockeysville, MD, Hilary (David Stevens) Roe of Maple Grove, MN and Nancy Roe of West Palm Beach, FL, with 5 nephews and many friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Jon and 1 nephew.
Memorials made can be directed to the Clinton Humane Society in Jay's name.
