Obituary for William Clayborn "Bill" Jetter, Jr.
William “Bill” Clayborn Jetter, Jr., 79, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Funeral services take place at 1 pm on Saturday, May 21, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation occurs from 11 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Following the services, cremation rites will be accorded with private burial taking place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
William was born January 26, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of William Sr. and Margaret (Culberson) Jetter. He attended the Clinton Schools. William was united in marriage to Theodasia "Teddy" Jetter on June 1, 1963. Later he married Karen Jones.
William owned and operated several businesses in the area including – Jetter Hauling, Jetter Disposal, E & J Metal, E & J Used Auto, Truck Parts, as well as, Jetter Roll-Off, Jetter Properties and the “Jet Lounge."
His hobbies included golfing, hunting, fishing, camping and boating.
William is survived by his daughter - Denise (Frederick) Williams of Clinton, one brother - Dawin Jetter of Fredericksburg, IA; his two grandchildren - Frederick Williams of Clinton; Favin Williams of Clinton; one step-daughter – Monee Jones of Columbus, OH; one sister – Dorothy “Dina” White of Clinton; one brother – Roland (Clara) McCorkle of Milan, IL; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings – Robert Jetter, Vinson Jetter, John Jetter and Marguerite Peters.
