Obituary for Wayne Alan Rickertsen

Wayne Alan Rickertsen, 61, of Low Moor, Iowa passed away at Eagle Point Nursing Home on Monday, May 25, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 29, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Burial will take place at Center Grove Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Wayne was born March 23, 1954 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Arlo and Lois (Peters) Rickertsen; Arlo would later pass in June 1973. Wayne was a graduate of North East High School. Following high school, he would go on to achieve a certificate in electronics from DeVry University.
Wayne was united in marriage to Sharon Dykstra on September 22, 1973 in Fulton, Illinois.
Wayne owned and operated Wayne's TV Repair Service in Low Moor, Iowa. He was a lifelong and active member of the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Fulton, Illinois. In 1978 Wayne joined the Low Moor Fire Department, serving as Fire Chief from 1984 to 2001.
Wayne loved wood working, however he never strayed very far from his passion for electronics and running his business. He loved his family very much, especially his granddaughter. He also loved his two Jack Russell Terriers - Chole and Bruiser.
Wayne is survived by his wife Sharon of Low Moor, IA.; one son - Jason (Rebecca) Rickertsen of Elvira, IA.; one granddaughter - Kaylee at home; one brother - Kenneth (Joyce) Rickertsen of Clinton, IA.; two step-sisters - Linda and Carol Ann; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Wayne in death were his parents - Arlo Rickertsen and Lois Johnson, his step-father - Harry Johnson and two brothers - Gerald and Carlyle.
