Obituary for Wayne Eugene Quick

Wayne E. Quick, 83, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the Alverno on Monday, March 25, 2019. A graveside service will take place at 11 am on Saturday, March 30, at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will occur from 4 pm to 8 pm on Friday, March 29, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive) Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Wayne was born May 8, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Russel “Rex” and Mae (Daley) Quick. He was a 1954 graduate of Clinton High School. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1954 to 1958. After his Naval service, Wayne attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Wayne was united in marriage to Arlette Boyer on June 6, 1964 at the Zion Lutheran Church.

He worked as an Electrician and was a 55-year member of the IBEW local 145, retiring in 1997. He was also a volunteer at the Clinton County Historical Society Museum.

He enjoyed golfing and fishing. Wayne was a traditional family man who loved his family very much and will be greatly missed.

Wayne is survived by his wife Arlette of Clinton; 1 daughter – Dawn (Jim) White of Camanche; 2 sons – Travis (Renelda) Quick of Streator, IL and Scott Quick of Davenport, IA; 6 grandchildren – Jason (Heikki) Quick of Dixon, IL, Amanda Risinger of Madison, TN, Jessica (Taylor) Clifford of Albuquerque, NM, Melissa Quick of Streator, IL, Chase White and Carley White of Camanche; 1 great grandchild – Ronin Quick of Dixon, IL and 2 step great-grandchildren - Griffon and Gabriel Reed of Dixon, IL; 1 brother – Jake (Barb) Quick of Jamul, CA; 1 sister in-law Jean Quick of Morrison, IL with several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Wayne in death were his parents, 1 sister Eleanor Schatz, 4 brothers – Don, Joe, Al and Meritt; 2 nieces – Bonne Sue and Julie and 2 nephews – Bruce and Donnie.

Memorials made can be directed to the Clinton County Historical Society or Genesis Hospice.
