Walter Franklin Bell, Sr., 64, of Clinton died Tuesday , July 5, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport. Funeral service will be 1:00p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date.
Walter was born May 13, 1947, in Bluefield, West VA., the son of Howard and Gladys (Tate) Bell. Walter married Mable Martin, May 13, 1967, in Clinton at Zion Lutheran Church. Walter enjoyed Motorcycle riding, camping, working on cars, and he loved spending time with his family and 2 chihuahuas.
Survivors include his wife, Mable of Clinton, 2 daughters, Faye (Charles) Lee, of DeWitt, Barbara (Brian) Parker, of Clinton, 2 sons, Walter (Maxine) Bell, Jr., of Clinton, Joseph Jewell of Clinton, 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 sisters, Ruth (Craig) Dolter of Dubuque, Francis (Leigh) Curtis, of Lost nation, Tammy (Ray) Friis, of Clinton, 1 brother, Robert (Marie) Bell, of DeWitt, and many nieces and nephews.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a brother-in-law, and his loving dogs, Taco and Hobo.
