Obituary for Virginia Lee "Jennie" Johnson (Keller)

Virginia “Jennie” Lee Johnson, 74, of Coralville, Iowa (formerly Clinton), passed away at home on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Funeral services will take place at 1 pm on Thursday, January 9, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation occurs two-hours prior from 11 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Jennie was born February 6, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Harold and Virginia (Vervais) Keller. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” H. Johnson on March 24, 1970 in Morrison, Illinois – Bill passed away in 2010.

Jennie worked at the General Electric Plant in Morrison, Illinois and concluded her career working at the Mississippi Belle.

Jennie enjoyed Bowling with friends, playing Bingo, playing games of chance and loved watching Wheel of Fortune. She also loved the outdoors – especially camping. She was talented at both writing poems and painting drawings. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.

Jennie is survived by three sons – Gregory (Robin) Johnson of Coralville, IA, James Johnson of Warner Robins, GA and Josh (Alexis) Johnson of St. Francis, MN; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; 5 sisters; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and close family friends Deb Corcoran and Lorie (Greg) Ginnederge, as well as, other friends.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, one brother and one sister.
