Viola (Gladyce) May Heath, 86, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Friday, May 6, 2022. Funeral services take place at 5pm on Thursday May 19, 2022 at Lemke Funeral Homes — South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). A visitation occurs an hour prior from 4pm until the service hour at the funeral home. Following the services cremations rites will be accorded with burial at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Viola was born June 16, 1935 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Thomas and Emma (Giesen) Johnson. She was a graduate of Albert Lea High School in Minnesota and received her Nursing Certificate at Minnesota State University, Mankato.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Heath on September 6, 1981 at Grace Episcopal Church in Clinton, Iowa. She was a long-time member of Grace Episcopal Church in Clinton.
Viola started her nursing career at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital as a Registered Nurse and retired from the VNA.
Viola enjoyed ceramics and knitting and crocheting. She was also an avid Chicago Cubs and Elvis Presley fan. She loved her little dog - her fur-baby — Emily. Above all she loved her family very much and will be incredibly missed.
Viola is survived by her daughter — Tammy Trost of Dixon, IL; one son - Joseph Danielson of Waynesville, MO.; and other extended family members and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband – Ken, son – James Mohr and one sister, Bonnie.
