Obituary for Vickie Lynn Varner (Chapman)
Vickie Lynn Varner, 61, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals on Friday, March 11, 2022. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of her life and traditional pot luck dinner takes place from 4 pm to 7 pm on Saturday, March 19, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Clinton. Burial takes place at a later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Vickie was born August 30, 1960 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Theodore “Ted” and Violet (Turner) Chapman. She was a homemaker and for a period of her life was a caretaker.
Vickie was united in marriage to Thomas “Tom” Varner on March 28, 2003.
Earlier in life, Vickie loved spending time outdoors, especially tending to her gardens. She also enjoyed collecting knick-knacks and entertaining guests at her house and socializing. She loved her fur-babies dearly. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be incredibly missed.
Vickie is survived by her husband Tom of Clinton; five children - Heather Bledsoe, Kristopher (Ashley), Greene, Eileen (Brannon) Mayer, Bradley Greene and Sean Varner all of Clinton; 12 grandchildren; siblings – Al, Jackie, Renee, Terry, Sherry and Richard with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers - Donnie and Mike and two sisters - Janet and Margaret.
