Velma Larson, 81, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Monday, August 1, 2016. A funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. A visitation will occur from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Velma was born October 14, 1934 in Clayton County, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Matilda (Halverson) Christianson. She was united in marriage to Bernell A. Larson on December 27, 1954.
Velma was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton. She was a homemaker and worked alongside her husband in the family business- "Larson's TV Repair".
Velma enjoyed being outdoors, especially tending to her garden. She also enjoyed interior decorating. She loved the Holidays and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Her family was always the most important part her life and she loved them dearly - she will be sadly missed.
Velma is survived by two daughters - Lori (Anthony) Baratta of Dixon, IL and Tracy (Thomas) Clasen of Des Moines, IA; two sons - Tim (Denise) Larson from West Des Moines, IA and Chad (Charlotte) Larson of Killeen, TX; nine grandchildren; one sister - Betty (Bob) Kurdelmeyer of Monona, IA; one brother - Charles (Sandy) Christianson of Gowrie, IA; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she's met throughout her life.
Preceding Velma in death were her parents, her husband, five sisters and four brothers.
