Torrie Ray Lanning, 50, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on January 2, 2014. Cremation rites have been accorded . A private celebration of her life took place on Monday, January 6, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. A private burial will take place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Torrie was born August 3, 1963 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Earl and Doris (Stoecken) Shields. She was a 1982 graduate of Clinton High School.
For many years Torrie worked as a Hospice CNA homecare provider and also a CNA at Eagle Point Nursing Home, as well as a homemaker.
She loved animals and especially enjoyed watching and feeding birds. Above all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Torrie is survived by her parents Earl and Doris Shields of Albany, IL.; four children - Racheal (Terence King) Bergeron of Clinton, IA., Ryan Lanning of Hernando FL., Felicia (Mike Sansom) Lanning of Hernando FL., Stephanie (Mathew Miller Sr.) Lanning of Clinton, IA., several grandchildren; one sister - Tonja (Lynn) Mattie of Colorado Springs, CO., and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Torrie in death were one sister and one grandson.
