Obituary for Steven Russell Schnitzler
Steven Russell Schnitzler, 79, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Honoring his wishes cremation rites have been accorded with a celebration of his life taking place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Steven was born on December 13, 1942, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Johnson and Ethel (Tipton) Schnitzler. He was united in marriage to Marlene Newmarch on June 6, 1977 in Casper, Wyoming.
Steven was a welder and was employed by various companies with a majority of his time working on oil rigs in Wyoming.
Steven enjoyed the outdoors, spending time barbequing and fishing on the Mississippi. He loved watching old John Wayne and Clint Eastwood movies. He enjoyed woodworking. He loved his little dog — Scub and cat — Coco. Above all, he loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Steven is survived by his wife Marlene of Clinton; three sons — John Schnitzler of Clinton, Dennis Schnitzler of Clinton and Tim (Jessica) Schnitzler of Maquoketa; five grandchildren — Cody, Dillon, Austin, Sierrah (Steven), and Shyanne ; two great-grandchildren — Ivan and Winsley; one brother — David Rosenbloom of North Dakota; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister — “Jerry”.
