Obituary for Shirley Kohl

Shirley Ann Kohl, 68, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and friends on Friday April 26th, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 30th, at 2:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). Visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes, South Chapel. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Shirley was born January 9th, 1945 in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Lola (Munson) Inman. She was married to Robert Kohl Sr. for twenty two and one half years.
Shirley worked at Steel Castings as a Security Guard in Keokuk Iowa. She also worked at the Swiss Company and finally at Whittier School in Clinton as a cross-guard & playground supervisor. Shirley loved life and people; she was especially fond of playing bingo, darts, liked dancing and Karaoke. She loved the children at Whittier School where she worked and they fondly referred to her as "Grandma". Above all she loved her children, grandchildren and great grand children.... and her two favorite pets Willis and Courage. Shirley will be sadly missed by all that knew her, especially her best friend Ruthy.
Shirley is survived by her loving companion of seven years Richard Eggert of Clinton, IA.; three daughters - Laurie (Murray) Henricks of Clinton, Ia., Lola (Paul) Mcardle of Clinton, Ia., Betty (Mike) Sally of Clinton, Ia.; one step-daughter - Ginny Davis of Clinton, Ia.; four sons - Robert Jr. (Esther) Kohl of Clinton, Ia., Jack (Brenda) Kohl of Clinton, Ia., John (Monica) Kohl of Clinton, Ia., William Kohl of Clinton, Ia.; one-step son- Donnie Jr. Kohl of Davenport, Ia.; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother - James (Sam) Inman of Burlington, Ia. and one sister in-law Judy Inman of Aledo, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son Bryant Allen Kohl; her sister - Edna Pullen; her two brothers - Ron Inman and Bobby Inman; one granddaughter - Carrie; one grandson- Calvin; one great grandson- Nick Jr. and one step-daughter Jeannie May Kohl.
