Obituary for Shirley "Jeanee" Huling (Stoddard)

Shirley Jean “Jeanee” Huling, 86, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospitals. Funeral services take place at 11 am on Friday, October 1 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. A visitation occurs from 5 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, September 30, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. An additional visitation occurs from 10 am until the funeral service hour on Friday. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Shirley was born June 13, 1935 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Mable (Marr) Stoddard.
She was united in marriage to Clyde Huling on November 23, 1952.

Shirley was a homemaker always focusing on her family first, however through the years she worked at General Electric in Morrison.

She loved attending family get-togethers and listening to family members sing during Karaoke events. She also loved going lunch with her friends and socializing. Visiting the Casino was a fun time for Shirley, she knew everyone and would always walk along waving to her many friends there. Shirley was a very pleasant person who never spoke a bad word about anyone. She was a very caring person, especially to children and was noted as a second mother to many of the neighborhood children. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be incredibly missed by all those who knew her.

Shirley is survived by her children – Julie (Roy) Brock of Clinton, Rhonda Sue (Craig) Hart of Lebanon, MO, Jeanee (Reid) Winesburg of Hayward, WI, Cathy (John) Kitchen of Fulton, IL, Clyde (Celia) Huling of Fulton, IL; one daughter in-law – Susan Huling of Clinton; one brother-in-law – Chuck Knight of Clinton; 25 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren; one brother – Dennis (Lou Ellen) Stoddard of Clinton and one special sister and best friend – Carol Jones of Clinton; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends – Bob Betsinger, Judy and Richard Haskell, Karen Orris and many more.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband - Clyde, one son – Jeffrey, three grandsons – Ernie, Wally and Joey, one great grandson – Connor, four brothers and three sisters.
