Obituary for Shirley Mae Bird (Kuntz)
Shirley Mae Bird, 95, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at Eagle Point Health Care Center on Friday, March 8, 2019. Funeral services will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, March 13, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). A visitation will occur 1-hour prior from 10 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Shirley was born October 1, 1923 in New Orleans, Louisiana the daughter of George and Dorothea (Geier) Kuntz. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Clinton. Shirley worked as a waitress for many restaurants in the area.
Shirley enjoyed watching TV, shopping, taking long walks and loved to read. She also loved her many pets she had throughout her life. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.
Shirley is survived by daughters - Shirley (David) Varner of Clinton, Norma Hutchinson of FL, Trudy Clark of WA; son – George (Betty) Bird Jr. of Clinton, special grandchild – Dottie Varner with several other grandchildren; great-grandchildren; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Shirley in death were her parents, son; sister and grandson.
Memorials made can be directed to the wishes of the family.
