Obituary for Shirley Ann Bader

Shirley Ann Bader, 82, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the Alverno on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. A funeral service will take place at 12 pm on Tuesday, November 20, at the Zion Lutheran Church. A visitation will occur 2 hours prior to the funeral service from 10 am until the time of service at the Church. Following the funeral service, cremation rites will be accorded with burial at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Shirley was born May 6, 1936 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of William and Anna (Ketelsen) Kohrt. She was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School. Shirley was united in marriage to Marvin Bader on September 4, 1959 in Clinton.

Shirley was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Moose Club.

Shirley worked many years as a Seamstress at Clinton Garment Factory. While there, she was a member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union (ILGWU).

Shirley enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards and loved bowling - a member of several league teams. She also enjoyed socializing with friends and family. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.

Shirley is survived by 2 brothers – Delbert Kohrt of Fairfield, CA and Darrell Kohrt of Council Bluffs, IA with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Shirley in death were her parents, her husband - Marvin, son - Terry, brother – Emil Kohrt and sister in-laws – Alberta, Gail, and Nobuko Kohrt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made can be directed to the wishes of the family.
