Obituary for Shelia Ann Dodd

Shelia Ann Dodd, 46, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics on Saturday, September 2, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur three hours prior to the funeral service on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service with burial at a later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Shelia was born April 4, 1971 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Victor and Mildred (Lanier) Borgstrom. She was a 1989 graduate of Clinton High School. Following High School, she earned her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Marycrest University.
Shelia was united in marriage to Ted Dodd on June 26, 1993 in Clinton, Iowa. Shelia was a longtime member of the Chancy Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.
During college she worked at ADM, following college she began her career at River City Day Care and finally moved on to Head Start working there for many years.
Shelia enjoyed crafting and she loved her animals, especially her fur baby Ralph – her Shih Tzu. She also loved doing anything with children. Christmas was her favorite family Holiday, always organizing the Christmas present exchange. She was the glue that kept her family going, and will forever be in the hearts of her family. She was blessed to see her first grandson born just 3 days before Jesus took her home.
Shelia is survived by her mother – Mildred Borgstrom of Clinton, IA; her husband Ted Dodd of Clinton, IA; three sons – Devin (Jasmine Bullock) Dodd of Cedar Rapids, IA, Brad (Olivia Cornejo) Dodd of Clinton, IA and James Dodd at home; 1 sister – Susan (Chris) Clark of Cedar Rapids, IA; one grandson – Chance Dodd at home; 1 sister in-law – Julie (Rick) Hansen of DeWitt, IA; 3 brother in-laws – Alan (Teryl) Eisinger of Sterling Heights, MI, Tom (Mindy) Dodd of Bettendorf, IA and Robert Edens of Fulton, IL; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and her special friend Nancy Determann and her entire Head Start family.
Preceding Shelia in death were her father, 1 brother and 1 sister.
