Obituary for Sharon Palsgrove

Sharon Kay Palsgrove, 78 of Camanche, Iowa passed away peacefully at Eagle Point Nursing Home on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded with services and burial taking place at later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Sharon was born August 10, 1943 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Florence (Roe) Johnson. She was a 1961 graduate of Clinton High School.

Sharon was united in marriage to Thomas “Tom” Palsgrove on May 11, 1963 at the Lutheran Church of the Atonement in Clinton – they were the first couple married in the Church.

Sharon started her career working at Van Allen’s, then in the kitchen at Burpee Seed Company and finally, she was fondly known as the “Lunch Lady” while she concluded her career working for the Camanche School System.

Sharon loved traveling with her husband, working crossword puzzles and watching television – especially horror or scary programs. She loved all animals, especially her dogs. She also loved to read books, again primarily horror stories. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and will be greatly missed.

Sharon is survived by her husband – Tom of Camanche, Iowa, two sons – Jeffrey (Karrie) Palsgrove of Camanche, Iowa and Cory Palsgrove of Rosedale, Maryland; two granddaughters – Kelsey and Lindsay of Maryland; one niece – Linda Rouse McCook; with several cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother.
