Obituary for Sharon Lee Gabel (Anderson)
Sharon L. Gabel, 81, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, on Friday, December 28, 2018. Funeral services occur at 12 pm on Thursday, January 3 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. A visitation will occur from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, January 2, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Sharon was born May 21, 1937 Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd and LaVonne (Erickson) Anderson. She was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School. Sharon was united in marriage to Milan Gabel on January 7, 1956 in Clinton – Milan passed away on September 20, 2000.
Sharon was a long-time member of the Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary. Sharon worked at Farm & Fleet, Clinton, retiring after 30+ years.
Sharon was an avid bowler, an original member and secretary of the “Latecomers League”. She enjoyed playing cards and socializing with family and friends. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.
Sharon is survived by her 3 sons – Randy (Mary) Gabel of Port Byron, David Gabel and Mickey Gabel both of Clinton; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; 1 sister – Sherry (Jim) West of Clinton; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Sharon in death were her parents, her husband, son - Milan Jr., grandson - Randall Jr. and sister - Shirlie Cronk.
