Obituary for Saul DeVaughn Jackson
Saul DeVaughn Jackson, 29, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Monday July 6, 2020. A celebration of his life will take place from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Friday, July 17, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.) Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Saul was born March 1, 1991 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Eleanor Jackson and Clemon Phillips.
Saul loved Allah and was a follower of the Islamic Faith.
Saul loved reading and writing poetry. He was very social and loved talking to everyone and anyone. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and always put a smile on everyone’s face. He had a genuine concern for everyone, and was a great father figure for children of all ages, especially his two children Isiah and Jamarious. Above all, he loved his entire family very much and will be incredibly missed.
Saul is survived by his mother - Eleanor Jackson of Clinton and his father – Clemon (Libra) Phillips of CO; two children - Isaiah and Jamarious; three sisters – Renda Jackson of Clinton, Shawndrea Jackson of Clinton and of Tania Seals of Gary, IN; three brothers – Andre Jackson of Clinton, Quancy Phillips and Tyvon Phillips of CO; grandparents – Kathy (Joseph) Jackson of Clinton, Barbara Luten of Davenport, IA, Aunts and Uncles – Lori, Jason, Yveonne, Correan, Joseph Jr.; with many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparent – Lonnie Luten, sister – Shaniqua Broughton and aunt – Lesa Carr-Harlston.
