+Pastor Richard L. Sorrentino; President and Executive Director; New Hope in Christ Ministries Nov 24, 2019

As President of this Ministry, it is with a solemn heart, but, a veiled sense of victory, for all those who have lived on this earth have a place in God's House, for in that wondrous Mansion, there are many rooms. Regardless of what we may believe, or how we may view God, love is the greatest force in all the world! Life is hard, indeed; what life takes from us, those precious memories of who we are and who we love, is probably the worst of life's tragedies, for when one loses their memories, they lose themselves. Sandy was a tragic victim of a disease which we are beginning to understand, but, at this time, there is little that we can do about. We can slow its progression through medicine, we can attempt to rebuild those neural pathways through mental exercises and therapies, but, that is just a drop of water in a boundless ocean. What matters is the love we express to those who live in the perpetual past, the many times we say "I love you's" to people who don't remember us as we are, and the many times we just hold their hands and sing old songs to them that they can remember. It is said that Alzheimer's is a curse, and, indeed, it is a most tragic occurrence, yet, regardless of what happens to us, regardless of whether we cannot remember where we are or who is with us, God never forgets who we were, and, who we will one day be. God remembers every person on this planet, every kind thought, every humble gesture, everything that concerns us as human beings. Sandy now lives in a world of perpetual remembrance, a world of love and compassion, where every previous memory, every moment which defines us as human beings is forever in her eyes, and, in her heart. May God, who remembers only the good things about us, those kind acts and thoughts which make so much of a difference in our thoughtless world, help us each and every day to live that legacy of love in our own lives, as Sandy did in hers! Amen.
