Russell Wayne Olsen, 63, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Mercy Medical Center – North Campus on Sunday, September 17, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Russell was born November 9, 1953 in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Wayne and Beverley (Lange) Olsen. He was a graduate of Camanche High School. Russell worked at the Clinton Waukesha Engine Plant for many years until the Plant closed.
Russell loved dabbling with electronics, especially working on and fixing computers and telephones. He loved his fur babies – his two Siamese kitties. Although Russell kept mostly to himself, he was always willing to help anyone out. Above all, he loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren.
Russell is survived by his mother - Beverley Web-Nelson and step father - Richard Nelson of Clinton, IA; one daughter - Rebecca (John) Willett of Rock Falls, Il; three grandchildren – Dyllan, Terrisa and Cara all of Rock Falls, Il; one sister – Trudy (Robert) Dalton of Clinton, IA; one brother - Darwin (Laura Lee) Olsen of Cordova, Il; one Aunt – Arlene (Leo) Robinson of Griswold, IA; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding Russell in death were his father - Wayne Olsen and nephew - Randy Olsen.
