Obituary for Rosemary Dodge-Benson

Rosemary Dodge-Benson, 86, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 21, 2016. A funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 27, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). A visitation will occur two hours prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Rosemary was born March 23, 1929 in Charlotte, Iowa the daughter of George and Edith (Pool) Steffey. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Angles Academy. Rosemary married Elmer Harris Sr. in June 1945, she later married Leo D. Otto - he died on May 16, 1956. She married David Dodge on June 30, 1986 - he died on July 12, 1991. Rosemary was later united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Benson on May 15, 2006.
Rosemary started her career as a nurse but would later work for General Electric, retiring on September 30, 1988 after 25 years of service.
Rosemary loved being out in nature, enjoying the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. She loved all animals, however she especially loved her dog "Pierre". She loved her family very much and will be sadly missed.
Rosemary is survived by her husband - Bob Benson of Clinton, IA; one son - Jim (Sandy) Harris Jr. of Clinton, IA; one daughter - Ruth Ann (Larry) Stauffer Sr. of Clinton, IA; twelve grandchildren; twenty four great-grandchildren; twenty two great great-grandchildren; one brother - Melvin Steffey of Clinton, IA; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leo; her husband David; one son - Johnny Harris; two brothers; two sisters and one sister in-law.
