Obituary for Rose M. A. Jensen

Rose M. A. Jensen, 87, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. at Clinton Lawn Cemetery on Monday, September 21. A visitation will occur from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive).
Rose was born May 6, 1928 in Berlin, Germany the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Drischel) Schuster. Rose would graduate from high school in Berlin and also acquire a post high school technical degree. In 1951 Rose was united in marriage to Francis 'Frank' Jensen in Berlin, Germany.
In 1972 Rose started working for Don Sorensen. After many years at Sorensen Homes, Rose started her own business, "Rose Jensen Real Estate", as an owner/operator/broker. It was during this time that Rose and her husband Frank would purchase several parcels of property along the Mississippi river. Rose and Frank would call this river front development Sunrise Shores and would transform this overgrown and littered area into a beautiful and scenic opportunity for home owners. Rose and Frank would claim one of the parcels and would ultimately build their dream home along the Mississippi River. Rose was a member of the Clinton Chapter of the Women's Counsel of Realtors - acting as President for several years. She was also a board member of the YWCA. Later in life Rose volunteered much of her time as a member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary. She was also a member of Agatha and would also volunteer her time to the United Way Campaign and was an frequent Blood Bank donor.
Rose loved to travel abroad with her husband, collecting knick knacks and treasures everywhere they went. Rose also loved cruising the Mississippi on their Gibson boat - members of the U.S. Power Squadron. Rose also loved to socialize and entertain family and friends, especially during the Holidays. She loved pets, especially the Schnauzer's she had throughout her life including her last best friend - Heidi. Rose had a kind heart, she was a true gem and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Rose is survived by one sister - Gisela (Fred) Murdough of Anchorage, AK.; two nephews - Wess (Tatsuo Maruyma) Murdough of San Francisco, CA., Mark (Carrollea Hubbard) Murdough of Anchorage, AK.; one half-sister - Helga (Rudi) Rohles of Trier, Germany; two nieces - Astrid of Brussels and Marietta of Germany; with many friends she met throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank, one sister - Chris Montebello, Father in-law - Bernhardt Jensen and Mother in-law - Grace Simmons and one brother in-law John Montebello.
