Obituary for Ronald Lewis "Ron" Horton

Ronald “Ron” Lewis Horton, 68, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Mercy One Medical Center on Saturday, September 28, 2019, after an extended illness. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a Memorial service taking place at 11 am on Friday, October 4, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Burial will take place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Ronald was born in Savanna, Illinois to Arnold and Virginia (Trude) Horton. Ronald lived in Clinton most of his life, as well as, Aurora, Colorado and Hutchinson, Kansas. Ronald served his country in the United States Army.

Ronald is survived by his three children – Johnathon “Jack” Horton of Topeka, KS, Jeramie Horton of Hutchinson, KS and Jillian (Dave) Behr of Blue Springs, MO; three grandchildren – Taylor, Faith and Brandon all of Blue Springs, MO; four sisters – Violet (Gary) Dalton of Camanche, Diane Hull of Clinton, Cathy (Joe) Hughes of Clinton, Cindy Atwater of Clinton; one brother – Kenneth Horton of Clinton and his best buddy, his sidekick – Charlie – his dog.

Preceding Ronald in death were his parents, two children, three brothers, one sister, his wife Sharon and the mother of his children – Shirley.
