Obituary for Robert Hill
Robert William Hill, 84, of Clearwater Florida and formerly of Clinton, passed away at home on Friday, February 10, 2023. Honoring his wishes cremation rights have been accorded with a celebration of his life taking place from 10 am to 11 am. on March 25, 2023 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel. Final prayers take place at 11 am to conclude his life celebration at the funeral home. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Robert was born July 9, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Ross and Corrine (Smith) Hill. He was a graduate of South Tama High and from there he continued his education at DeVry University.
Robert was united in marriage to Sandra Behrend on October 14, 1961, in Morrison, Illinois.
He worked for many years with the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority as a computer programmer helping to computerize many of the manual switches.
Robert enjoyed many hobbies and activities throughout his life including fishing, woodcarving, and playing bridge. He loved being outside and spending time with his friends but above all else he loved his family very much. He adored spending time with his grandchildren, making sure to never miss any of their events. Robert was always the first to say yes to any games they wanted to play.
Robert is survived by his daughter Candace (Jared) Seitz of Clinton Iowa. His grandchildren Xander and Zoey of Clinton, Iowa. As well as many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, his wife Sandra, and one son Robert.
The family asks that all memorials please be directed to Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC) at 250 20th Ave N. Suite 250 in Clinton, IA in honor of Robert.
