Robert “Bob” E. Grear, 83, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at MercyOne Medical Center on Monday, March 20, 2023. Honoring his wishes cremation rites will be accorded with a celebration of his life taking place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Robert was born September 15, 1939 in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of John and Lureta (Porter) Grear. He was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Carnes on February 26, 1960 in Ottumwa, Iowa. They spent 50+ years together before her passing in 2018.

Robert was a Machinist at Waldorf Corp., now WestRock. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Robert was an avid Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan, and also followed NASCAR. He enjoyed collecting coins and traveling to visit flea markets. Robert loved all the animals that he had throughout his life, especially his grand-dog – Mikey. Above all Robert loved his family very much and he will be incredibly missed.

Robert is survived by his sons – Robert W. (Kathy) Grear of Clinton and Douglas (Carol) Grear of Clinton, 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; with several nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife – Shirley and one brother – John Richard Grear.
