Obituary for Robert "Bob" Dithmart

Robert (Bob) Phelen Dithmart, 84, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at his home on January 8, 2017.
Bob was born in Bryant, Iowa August 25, 1932 the son of Andrew and Edith (Wenzel) Dithmart. Bob served his country as a seaman and boiler tender aboard the USS Prairie AD 15 during the Korean war. Bob married Vicky Jean Walker November 17, 1962.
Bob was a mason with the Local 6 of Rockford and the BAC Local 15 for 19 years and worked for the Chicago North Western Rail Road for 26 years before retiring. Bob was particularly proud of going back to school and earning his GED while working for the rail road. As a young man Bob enjoyed the outdoors with his family fishing, camping and hunting.
Bob is survived by his wife Vicky, daughters Susan (Doug) Larson and Sheila (Justin) Lee; 4 grandchildren Andrew Larson, Heather Carrier, Tabitha Larson and Dawson Lee and one great grandchild Landon Gatson.
Services provided by Lemke Funeral Homes where a private burial will be held at a later date.
