Obituary for Robert Lewis Dirks
Robert Lewis Dirks, 77, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at the Alverno on Wednesday, December 23, 2020. Honoring his wishes cremation rites have been accorded with no services scheduled. Private burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery a later date.
Robert was born October 21, 1943 in Albany, Indiana the son of Clarence and Wilma (Brown) Dirks. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. Robert was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of the AMVETS.
Robert was united in marriage to Linda Clark on May 21, 1966 in Clinton, Iowa. He retired from Alcoa after 34 years.
Robert’s passion and developed skills was centered around the restoration of old cars. He then loved to drive his finished products around. Not surprisingly, he loved attending car shows. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him.
Robert is survived by his wife - Linda of Clinton and other family members, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents.
