Obituary for Richard Hanback

Richard Irwin Hanback, 80, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno Health Care Facility on September 7, 2014. A graveside service will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10, at Glendale Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Pekin, Illinois. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Richard was born August 8, 1934 in Murrayville, Illinois the son of Irwin and Margaret (Mawson) Hanback. He was a graduate of Richwood High School in Peoria, Illinois. Richard was united in marriage to Dorothy Davis on June 24, 1955.
He worked as a purchaser for Caterpillar, retiring there after 34 years; often commenting that he loved working for Caterpillar.
Richard was a member of the fraternal order of Masons - Empire Lodge #126. Richard loved being part of the mason fraternity, especially participating in the Job's Daughters International - a Masonic sponsored youth organization for girls and young women. Above all he loved spending time with his family, especially playing with his great grandsons - he will be sadly missed.
Richard is survived by one daughter - Judith (Dale) Grimshaw of Clinton, IA., one granddaughter - Danielle Grimshaw of Clinton, IA.; one grandson - Michael (Melissa) Grimshaw of Granville, Ill.; three great grandsons - Kaleb, Wesley and Wyatt Grimshaw and two nieces - Paula and Kristin.
Preceding Richard in death were his parents, his wife, one son - Gerald and one brother.
Memorials made will be directed to the wishes of the family.
