Richard Green, Sr., 70, of Sunrise, Arizona (formerly of Clinton, Iowa) passed away at Life Stream Health Care Center in Youngtown, Arizona on March 4th, 2013. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 9th, at 1:00 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). A visitation will be held two hours prior to the funeral service from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Richard was born March 1st, 1943 in Winchester, Kentucky the son of Robert and Josephine Green. Richard was united in marriage to Geraldine Jordan on April 25th, 1964 in Clinton, Iowa.
Richard retired from the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, Clinton Car Shop. He was a member of the Second Baptist church. He owned and operated "Drummers Lounge" in Clinton, Iowa. He enjoyed horse racing, especially the Kentucky Derby. Above all Richard loved his family and friends, he will be greatly missed.
Richard is survived by his wife Geraldine of Surprise, AZ.; one daughter - Tiffany (Calvin) Williams of Surprise, AZ.; one son- Richard "Rick" Green, Jr. of Surprise, AZ; three grandchildren; three sisters - Johnnie Mae Julian of Kentucky, Mildred Green of Virginia, Teddy Jetters of Clinton, IA.; three brothers - Charles (Gloria) Green of Rockford, IL., Nathaniel Green of Clinton, IA. and Paul Green of Clinton, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers.
