R. Gerald Schoephorster, 80, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at the Alverno on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Honoring his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A private family graveside service will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Gerald was born June 29, 1937 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Artemus and Pauline (Anderson) Schoephorster. He was a 1955 graduate of Clinton High School. Gerald was united in marriage to Barbara Paulline on June 7, 1958 in Clinton, Iowa.
Gerald retired from Clinton Corn/ADM after 30+ years of service.
Gerald was a long-time member of the Eagles Club and also a member of the Moose Club. Gerald was also an avid fan of the Lumber Kings and the Chicago Cubs. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed listening to various types of music. Above all he loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much and will be sadly missed.
Gerald is survived his wife Barbara of Clinton, IA; his children: Debbie (David) Elkins of Clinton, IA, Kim (Marty) Clark of Clinton, IA and Terry (Laura) Schoephorster of Richland, MO; with 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceding Gerald in death were his parents and 1 brother.
