Peter Adam Herch, 94, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at Mercy Living Center North on July 7th, 2013. A grave side service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 11th at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10th at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel 2610 Manufacturing Drive (west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). Honorary pallbears will be Gary Herch, Michael Herch, Peter Herch, Gary Geronzin, Jim Haring and Wolfgang (Wally) Kientopf. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Peter was born October 13th, 1918 in Akron, Ohio the son of Peter and Katherine (Rosenbach) Herch. He was united in marriage to Geraldine Comstock on September 31st, 1939 in Clinton, Iowa. He served his country in the United States Navy, a WWII veteran.
Peter was a member of the Carpenters Union and a lifetime member of Clinton Moose Lodge. He was also a member of the Izaak Walton League.
Peter enjoyed being a skilled carpenter, he often took weekend rides with his wife to show her the schools and other buildings where he was working. They truly enjoyed each other's company and loved to spend their free time together dancing. He also enjoyed bowling and playing cards at the Moose Lodge.

Peter is survived by his wife, Geraldine ; two sons - David (Pauline) Herch of Clinton, IA., Richard Herch of Colorado; eleven grand children, many great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren and one sister - Katherine Mitchell of Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and thirteen brothers and sisters.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society directed to a cure for Melanoma.
