Patricia J. Richardson, 74, of Camanche, Iowa passed away at home on Thursday, December 24, 2015. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a 12:00 p.m. memorial service taking place on Thursday, December 31, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). A visitation will occur one hour prior to the memorial service from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Patricia was born February 20, 1941 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Arthur and Dorothy (Zeil) Sawvell. Patricia was united in marriage to James Richardson in January 1959. She worked as a breakfast manager at a local hotel for many years.
Patricia's main priority was always taking care of her family. This couldn't be more true when her husband and later in life, her son, were stricken with a rare genetic disease, Patricia lovingly cared for both of them. She will be sadly missed by her family.
Patricia is survived by her two daughters - Cheryl (Frank) Pray of DeWitt, IA and Peg (Donna Jack) Richardson of Colorado Springs, CO; one son - Steve (Angie Dierks) Richardson of Clinton, IA; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister - Marion McCarty of Madrid, IA; one brother - Donnie (Linda) Sawvell of McCausland, IA; one sister in-law - Bonnie Sawvell; with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband James, her son Scott and two brothers Leslie "Sonny" Sawvell and Robert Sawvell.
