Patricia Ellen Keen, 77, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at Genesis Hospital - Davenport on Friday, September 11, 2020. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a funeral service taking place at 11 am on Friday, September 18 at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive). Burial immediately follows at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Patricia was born on February 2, 1943 in Long Branch, New Jersey, the daughter of Joseph and Ellen (Vanderhoof) White. Patricia acquired her GED and then went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Eastern Michigan University.
Taking care of people was always a priority for Patricia - she was a military wife for 20 years, taking care of her family, and then became a nurse, taking care of others, working at several area hospitals. She also taught nursing classes at Scott Community College.
Patricia loved traveling and often reflected on the fond memories of a special trip she took with her brother and sister to Ireland. In later years, she enjoyed taking bus tours visiting new places. She loved tending to her garden and many indoor potted plants – she had a real green thumb. Patricia loved all animals, especially the many fur-babies she had all her life. Above all, she loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.
Patricia is survived by her four children - Patricia “Patty” (Gene) Flynn, Laura (Jim) Brown; Charles (Karen) Keen Jr. and Joseph (Tammy) Keen; one daughter in-law Debra Keen; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister – Arlene (Jack) Murphy; with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son – Robert, who passed just 25 days prior and one brother – John.
