Obituary for Milton Lloyd "Bill" Quick

Milton “Bill” L. Quick, 91, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at Westwing Place, DeWitt, Iowa on Monday, December 7, 2020. Funeral services occur at 12 pm on Wednesday, December 9, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). A visitation occurs two-hours prior from 10 am until the service hour at the Funeral Home. Burial takes place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Bill was born December 25, 1928 in DeWitt, Iowa the son of Llyod and Elsie (Cartee) Quick. Bill served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Bill was united in marriage to Mildred Myers on March 24, 1953 in Iowa City, Iowa.

He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and also a member of the AMVETS and the Eagle’s Club.

He began his career working at the Clinton Climax Engine and Pump Plant. Next, he worked at Chemplex and ended his career working in construction.

Bill loved to go fishing and enjoyed socializing with family and friends. He was also an avid Cubs fan and loved his pet dogs - Bailey and Katie. Above all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren, very much and will be sadly missed.

Bill is survived by two daughters - Kristina Snyder of Clinton, IA, Kelley Gluesing of Charlotte, IA.; one son - Kim Quick of Clinton, IA.; nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; two sisters – Bonnie Clausen and Nadine Jones and two brothers – Earl (Joyce) Quick and Keith Quick; his special niece Becky Peters of MN.; with many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 62 years Mildred, two sons – Steve and Scott Quick and one daughter in-law Vicki.
