Mildred LaVonne Quick, 82, of Clinton, Iowa passed away peacefully at Mercy Living Center - South Campus on July 1, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Drive, Clinton). A visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, at Lemke Funeral Homes - South Chapel. An additional visitation will take place from 11:30 a.m. until time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Mildred was born February 13, 1933 in Mason City, Iowa the daughter of Gertrude and Jasper Smith. She was united in marriage to Milton 'Bill' Quick on March 24, 1953 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Mildred was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Clinton. She was also a member of the AMVETS and Eagles Club.
Mildred was an avid Cubs fan, following every game. She also enjoyed cooking, loved her pets - Bailey and Katie and loved Elvis. Above all she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by her husband Bill of 62 years; two daughters - Kristina Snyder of Clinton, IA., Kelley Gluesing of DeWitt, IA.; one son - Kim (Vicki) Quick of Clinton, IA.; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; one sister - Dian (Gary) Schmidt of Morrison, IL.; her special niece Becky Peters of MN., with many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she has met through her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons - Steve and Scott Quick.
