Obituary for Michael Carlos Troy Rettkowski

Michael Carlos Troy Rettkowski, 47, of Clinton, Iowa has gone to his glory home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 3, 2020. Cremation rites have been accorded with funeral services taking place at 11:30 am on Thursday, September 10, at Lemke Funeral Homes – South Chapel (2610 Manufacturing Dr.). A visitation occurs 1-1/2 hours prior from 10 am until the service hour at the funeral home. Burial occurs at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.

Michael was born March 4, 1973 in Clearwater Beach, Florida.

Michael worked as a laborer until leaving that career to care for his grandparents and then his mother Vickie Lee (Delk) Long.

Michael was united in marriage to Marianne Blue on November 3, 2018.

Michael loved music and was a natural born musician and writer. He taught himself how to play musical instruments by reading books and listening to 8-track tapes. He also enjoyed watching baseball and football; his favorite teams he followed intently were the Tampa Bay Rays and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He was a computer enthusiast and was very proficient at the computer. During his free time, he enjoyed playing video games. Mike was very observant toward people feeling, if you were down, he would sense it and make every attempt to brighten your spirit. Above all, he loved his family very much and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.

Michael is survived by wife Marianne Rettkowski of Clinton; daughter Skylarr Rettkowski of Clinton; son – Kaleb (Mackenzie) Rettkowski of Clinton; four grandchildren – Ryleigh, Hazel, Phoebe and Briar and extended children – Tony Duhme of Camanche, Deidra Duhme of DeWitt, Travis Truitt of Clinton and Shawn McNamee of Clinton; extended grandchildren – Zoey and Maddie; with three brothers and seven sisters; as well as, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and mother – Vickie.
