Obituary for Michael McGinn
Michael Ray McGinn, 78, of Clinton, Iowa, passed away at the Alverno on Sunday, October 24, 2021. Private Funeral Services and burial will take place at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Michael was born December 24, 1942 in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Ethel Jane (Gibson) McGinn. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. Michael was united in marriage to Sheila Peterson on October 5, 1968.
Michael was a long-time employee at 3M.
Michael enjoyed singing – he was blessed with an amazing range and perfect pitch voice that is seldom heard today. He enjoyed performance cars. He loved his pets both large and small – horses down to cats. He was also a HAM radio enthusiast acquiring his operator license only after listening to other operators as a teenager; his call sign was – KD0HCJ – and with that, was a member of the Clinton Radio Club. He also loved the outdoors - both taking pictures of mother nature’s beauty and taking advantage of fishing, snow skiing and golf. He will be remembered as a private, quiet, soft and gentle, kind and loving husband.
Michael is survived by his wife – Sheila of Clinton; one brother and sister-in-law – Jim and Deb Peterson of Clinton; one sister-in-law – Carol Wilkerson of Clinton; with several cousins and friends.
Proceeding him in death are his parents, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
