Obituary for Melissa Mussmann
Melissa Lynne Mussmann, 52, of Clinton, Iowa passed away at home on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with services occurring a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Melissa was born November 8, 1969 in Clinton, Iowa the daughter of Arnold Sr. and Linda (Griebel) Mussmann. She was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Andover, Iowa. She graduated High School with honors.
She was united in marriage to Harold Skeel Mussmann until his passing and then met her life partner Emmette Murray.
As young woman she was a “daddy’s girl” who loved and followed her dad everywhere. Growing up in the small town of Teeds Grove she grew to appreciate and loved the outdoors – recently she loved just sitting up on the dike looking over the Mississippi river. She loved all the animals she had throughout her life. She also enjoyed collecting purses and fine pens. Above all, she loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and will be greatly missed.
Melissa is survived by her mother Linda Mussmann of Teeds Grove, IA; two daughters - Amanda Mussmann and Courtney Mussmann both of Clinton; two grandchildren – Jersey Varner and Kayson Varner; three brothers – Arnold Jr. (Brenda) Mussmann of Miles, IA, Jeff (Kristy) Mussmann of Sabula, IA and Terry (Lisa) Mussmann of Sabula, IA; with one niece and many nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and father – Arnold, Sr.
