Obituary for Maxine June Blessington (Duhr)
It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Maxine June Blessington on January 29, 2019 at Mercy Living Center in Clinton, Iowa. Honoring her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded with a Funeral Mass taking place at 1 pm on Thursday February 7, at Jesus Christ Prince of Peace Catholic Church. A visitation will occur from 12 pm until the Funeral Mass at the Church. Burial will take place at a later date. Lemke Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
Maxine was born on June 17, 1921 in Clinton, Iowa to Claus and Viola Duhr. She attended school in Clinton and graduated from Clinton High in 1939. She retired from the Clinton Herald Circulation Dept. after 25 years of service.
She is survived by son Chuck (Lucy) Blessington, Gainesville, FL; daughters Mary Jo (Alan) Talkington, Ames, IA, Betty Jones and Ann (Dave) Geronzin both of Clinton; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters Marilyn Jackson and Shirley Jackson both of Clinton and Carolyn (Carl) Baty of CA; sister-in-law Madalyn Duhr.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, son Bob, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
