Obituary for Mary Angela Stewart
Mary Angela Stewart, 77, of Clinton, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, October 22nd, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center -North. Honoring Mary's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2nd at Lemke Funeral Homes-South Chapel (2610 manufacturing drive - west side of Clinton Lawn Cemetery). The family will receive friends two hours prior to the memorial service from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Lemke Funeral Homes is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mary was born July 3, 1936 in Iowa City, Iowa the daughter of Marian Magdaline McGovern. Mary was blessed to be raised by two sets of parents, her mother and John Barker as well as Lawrence and Helen Steinbrecher of Davenport, Iowa.
Mary started her career working for the Swift Company in Clinton. Later on she managed the 7-Eleven convenience stores in Clinton, Iowa for many years. She also worked as a book keep for several local companies.
Mary loved Friday night Bingo at the Eagle's Club. she loved her family and enjoyed taking pictures of the grandchildren at their various events. She also enjoyed music and dancing as well as socializing with family and her many friends. She looked forward to Cafe' dinner night at Mercy South - socializing with her friends there. "Mary Angela had the prettiest blue eyes that would light up a room when she smiled and made you light up too. We love you and will miss you mom".
The family wishes to thank Mercy Living Center North and Mercy Living Center South - Harmony Home and family and her many friends for being supportive to their mom.
Mary is survived by one daughter- Marian Magdaline Bernstorf of Clinton, Iowa; three sons - Larry Peters of Battlefield, MO, Mike (Theresa) Hutch of Braselton , GA, John (Jodi) Hutch of Schaumburg, IL; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; one twin sister - Barbara and Mary's pet cat Teko.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her three husbands - Don Peters, Comell Hutch and Larry Stewart.
